Two diamonds, surpassing 100 carats each have been mined by Gem Diamonds Ltd at its Lesotho mine in Southern Africa. Have a look at the photo!
“Gem unearthed a 104.73 carat D color Type IIa diamond and a 151.52 carat Type I yellow diamond at its Letseng mine, the company said in a statement Monday. Type IIa diamonds contain very little or no nitrogen atoms and are the most expensive stones.”
With this find, Lesotho was brought a step closer to ending a drought of large stones.
While the latest finds will offer some reassurance to investors, they’re not even close to the biggest found at Letseng. In 2015, Gem sold a 357-carat stone for $19.3 million and in 2006 found the 603-carat Lesotho Promise. It is the largest reported find this century and the 15th largest diamond ever found.

This ring was designed for a customer who wanted a "floating diamond" style of a diamond eternity band without worrying about loss of stones. But they did not want a ring with 4 bulky prongs holding each diamond, so we created this design for them.

A lot of people go to downtown jewelry districts such as New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Toronto and many others to buy jewelry hoping to buy diamonds at wholesale prices. While this strategy may yield a good deal, it's like finding a needle in a haystack. Going from booth to booth, you'll see each retail diamond seller will have 10-100 diamonds to choose from. And they most likely own some of these diamonds and have a vested interest in selling only these diamonds and nothing else and will do whatever is possible to "close the deal" to sell one of these diamonds to you today. A diamond wholesaler on the other hand has hundreds or thousands of diamonds in stock, and trades with diamond sellers all over the world, like a diamond broker. If you work with a diamond wholesaler you can get the very best diamond you're looking for at the very best price.

Diamond owners who have long loved and valued the exquisiteness of their gemstone know very well that aside from the 4Cs of color, clarity, cut, and carat, there is one more thing that they need to be aware of – fluorescence.
Although technically not a characteristic of diamonds that is used for grading a diamond's color, fluorescence can also affect the value of a diamond, in the same way that the 4Cs do.
